Colds and flu and Covid oh my!

It’s that time of year again. Thankfully just a simple cold with a few sniffles for us.

Sometimes we can push through a sickness and keep going. Other times we have to quarantine and have no choice but to rest. Either way, God is with us and God is good.

Psalms 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Yes, God can heal us. Anytime. But He can also go through a sickness (or some other difficulty) with us and grow us through it.

No matter what craziness comes our way, with God with us, we can enjoy what the end of the Psalm describes: “Be still, and know that I am God:

I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. 11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.”

So the next time it starts to feel like God is absent, remember that He hasn’t gone anywhere. We just have to be willing to remember Him and look to Him…even if that’s with a stuffy nose, a few tissues, and maybe even a fever or positive covid test.
