When diet plans don’t work πŸ˜† Work hardest at what will last longest.

We went to Disney back in April and enjoyed seeing this manatee. They are a lot of fun to watch and Jen’s favorite animal. But they are also living, breathing proof that diet and exercise don’t always make you skinny! I mean manatees eat lettuce and constantly swim!

1 Timothy 4:7-8 says, “But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”

Some things (like fables and fake news) just make life harder.

Other things (like physical exercise) make this life a little easier, a little better because exercise helps us do important things better and for longer.

But only God’s things can help us both now and for eternity.

So look at how you spend your time, your money. Look at what you talk about most. Are those things helping you impact eternity or distracting you from that focus?

Just today I read this quote: “[The body] may become a useful servant, but it is always a bad master.” Instead of giving in to every temporary desire that hits us, let’s fill our lives with what will impact not only today but all of forever.
