Have you ever asked someone out and gotten turned down? I won’t go into the details here, but Jen definitely turned me down…repeatedly…before finally saying yes to date me😳😏. We have some fun telling our story, but I will say one thing: Jen was never indifferent toward me. She never acted like she didn’t care or like I didn’t matter. It’s one thing to be rejected but a lot worse to be treated like you don’t even matter.
Maybe you’ve been there with a romantic interest. Maybe not. But if you’ve ever started to wonder if Jesus cares about you, if He will accept you, the Bible has some great answers. And you can guarantee Jesus always sees you and values you.
In Mark 4:38-39, the disciples were in a boat with Jesus and a big storm hit. They asked an important question and got an important answer (and an amazing miracle!): “And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Jesus was able to sleep because He already knew that He was in complete control.
Despite what the disciples thought in the middle of that storm, Jesus cared. And He still does.
