First of all, we don’t actually know what killed the grass in those spots, but it sure does look like a giant paw print! Imagine the size of a guard dog with a foot that size!
When we’re surrounded by challenges, stress, and difficulty, it’s nice to know we have some protection. Isaiah 26:1 says, “In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.”
Sounds like some great protection! About that amazing time that was coming, Isaiah 60:18b says, “Thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.”
God’s salvation offers us better protection than anything or anyone else ever can. If we have our faith in the God of the Bible, we can rest safely as if strong walls (or a giant watch dog) were protecting us even before a perfect eternity comes.
And Isaiah 26:3 describes the rest available to us every moment of every day right now: “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” I’m glad for Bella our guard dog watching out for our family, but I’m even more thankful for the peace that’s available through faith in God.
