Deep and wide

We’re having a great time at the Edge Christian Camp with our teens this week, right on the beautiful James River. The current is moving thousands of gallons of water constantly but doesn’t show a lot because of how deep and wide it is. There are flashier, smaller rivers that might get more attention (or give a wilder boat ride), but they don’t carry nearly as much water.

Romans 11:33 says, “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” God’s love is deep and wide, and the best part is that God thinks those amazing thoughts about you and me!

The first part of Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD.” The rest of that verse has great encouragement for us, but just the fact that the Creator of the uinverse would take the time to think about us is pretty awesome!

We might not always see God’s love rushing toward us in a dramatic way, but it’s always flowing, always bringing us what we need, right when we need it.
