The first time trying this “magic genie” trick really did take a bit of faith that it wouldn’t end up smashing that soda bottle all over the floor! Fun little magic trick (and no broken glass!). A little faith that the trick will work and the rope will hold, and you might just amaze a friend or two!
Faith is important for many areas of life. If you read Hebrews chapter 11 (often nicknamed the hall of faith) you’ll see the phrase “by faith…” over a dozen times followed by some amazing actions such as:
“By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house;” and
“By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.”
Those things were done because of big faith in a big God Who never failed them. They didn’t always know HOW God would come through for them, but they knew THAT God would come through for them.
Everyone has faith in something. My little trick doesn’t take faith; it takes a small ball of aluminum foil inside the bottle! But real life takes real faith. Let’s keep our faith in God for every situation every single day.
