Building plans

We really appreciate the progress being made on these pavilion restrooms at our church. I could try to take credit…but I’ve had nothing to do with it! I didn’t get those supplies, and I haven’t done any of the building.

Kinda reminds me of how it is with God sometimes: He provides everything we need and helps us build something with our lives only for us to take the credit for what we think we did on our own. 1 Chronicles 29:16 says, “O LORD our God, all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own.” God provides the supplies and the strength and skill needed to do the job (in this case, building the temple). How silly for us to take the credit for what God provides for and does through our lives!

Recognizing that it’s all up to God requires humility, but it also gives hope for the future. We’ve never had to be enough on our own, so we don’t have to be good enough for the future. We just need to be willing to let God use us.

Psalms 100:3 says, “Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves;

we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” He created us, literally building us from our DNA on up. And He provides everything we need to serve Him. Why not let Him build something special out of our lives and give Him the praise and credit when He does?
