Watch your back!

One of us recently got stopped for speeding (not saying who, but it wasn’t me!). You never know who’s watching! In my wife’s defense, she thought the speed limit on that road was higher and really is a good, responsible driver.

Hopefully we don’t need to watch our back to stay out of trouble, but we always need to watch our back to protect ourselves from the attacks of the enemy. 2 Peter 2:1 says, “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” We need to watch our back because there are a lot of people and influences that want to mess up our lives.

We also need to watch our back because other people are watching us and need good examples to follow. Verse 2 says, “And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.” There are more than enough bad examples to follow; let’s give the people in our lives a good one.
