Oh Yeah…Prove It!

John 11:25-26 says, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Jesus said that long before He was crucified. In fact, the death Mary was immediately concerned about wasn’t Jesus’ death—it was Lazarus who had recently died. Jesus claimed to have power over life and death…and then proved it by raising Lazarus from the dead.

Everyone’s faith gets put to the test sometimes, but thankfully Jesus passes the test every time.

Jesus wasn’t just claiming power over physical death—He claimed power over spiritual, eternal death in a place called hell. He claimed to be able to give people eternal life in heaven. And then He allowed Himself to be executed as a criminal on that Roman cross even though He never sinned. He took on our sins and went to the grave. It was pretty quiet on Saturday and then came the morning on the day He predicted He’d rise again. AND HE DID! He proved that what He said He could do…He could do.

Jesus proved His resurrection “by many infallible proofs” as Acts 1:3 says. The Bible and history give more than enough proof to convince us that He did in fact rise again. The real question isn’t the proof—it’s what each of us is gonna do with the fact that Jesus is ALIVE!

If you believe that He’s alive, make sure He’s alive in your life today and every day!
