Before Addison’s surgery to repair her broken arm, the doctor had us tell him which arm needed the help and wrote his initials on that arm. It was obvious to everyone which arm was broken, but these extra safety checks are good because the right fix needs to be in the right place to be helpful.
1 Corinthians 15:22 says, “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” The Bible makes it clear that all of us have sinned and deserve spiritual death in hell, but the Bible is also clear that Jesus came to offer us forgiveness and eternal life. Christmas is over but it’s still worth remembering and celebrating that Jesus became human to pay for our sins and offer us a home in heaven. He is the right fix, the perfect Savior, Who came to the right place to offer salvation to everyone that will place their trust in Him.
And if Jesus can take care of our deepest eternal need, we can definitely trust Him for our daily needs as well. I wonder how amazing 2023 will be if we simply look to Jesus instead of trying to come up with a solution on our own.
