Apparently the stars didn’t align after all šŸ˜³Glad there’s something better to base our decisions on!

Saw this in a Goodwill, and I thought it was kind of a sweet way to remember the moment this couple (whoever they are) got engaged. And then it hit me: Its dated only 2 years ago…and it’s already been donated to Goodwill! Apparently that relationship didn’t last as long as they hoped! There’s probably more to the story, but I’m glad there’s something a lot stronger than the “stars aligning” in some mysterious, superstitious way to base our lives on.

Matthew 7:24-27 says, “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.”

So why do you do what you do? What are your decisions based on?

It’s not in the stars. It’s not up to fate. God is in control, and He should be the one we look to when we have decisions to make.

I wrote most of this earlier in the day on Tuesday. By the evening, we were at the ER with Addison for a trampoline park injury that turned out to be a badly broken arm. So glad we have God’s help, guidance, and presence for all of life’s unexpected turns. Thank you to all who are praying for Addison; we know God’s got this and will try to keep everyone updated.
