Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.” Penury means poverty, and while we might never get rich from working hard, everything we do for God has eternal value and profit. In fact, Proverbs 10:16 says that “The labour of the righteous tendeth to life.” Do we care enough about others to help them find eternal life? Do we care enough to help people with the different needs we see all around us?
God loves to use different people with different talent levels, but God only uses people who are willing to get off the couch—to get busy for Him. We can all make a difference, but we’ve got to care enough to notice the need and get busy doing something about it.
