I appreciate the service of each of our veterans and am glad to honor those who gave years of their lives to serve our country and make it better in so many ways. Their service has made a difference.
Veterans, thank you for the difference you made as soldiers, and thank you for the difference so many of you continue to make in your communities and country even after your official time of service ended. Let’s each allow their example to drive us to give of ourselves, serve people around us, and make our country and our world a better place to live.
Jesus gave us the ultimate example of service and sacrifice. Mark 10:44-45
says, “And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. 45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
We depend on soldiers to keep our nation safe and help us in many ways, but all of us can make an impact right where we are. I love the quote “God’s will is not distant but daily.” As we honor our veterans, may each of us be inspired to faithfully look for opportunities to serve right where we are today and every day.
