What Goes Where?

Running Audio Equipment

I’ve had the privilege of helping with several outdoor sound setups recently including one last week for a live nativity practice. It always seems like most of the battle is just simply getting the right cords in the right places plugged in the right way. Even one thing in the wrong place can ruin the whole setup.

It’s easy to let things get out of place, and that’s especially true of the goals we have and the things we want. Matthew 16:26 says, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” A lot of people spend their entire lives trying to find purpose and meaning through money or success, but it’s only in our relationship with Jesus Christ that we can find ultimate fulfillment.

If you’ve never accepted Jesus, I hope you won’t let anything stop you from trusting Him as your Savior today because nothing else can ever compare to a relationship with Him.

And if you are a Christian, don’t let stuff mess up your priorities. There are people all around us who need to see how much Jesus matters to us, not how much stuff we might have. Whether it’s a new phone or a new car, a vacation or some new clothes, it’s nice to have stuff, and in its right place, the stuff we have can be enjoyed. But possessions and wrong priorities always mess us up when they become our main focus. As it’s been said, “It’s ok to have stuff as long as stuff doesn’t have you.”
