This view was amazing! A lot of the sky was gray and even most of the mountains were dark. But the valley had light! We often think of the mountaintop experiences being the easy, sunny times, but sometimes the bright spots come when and where we least expect them.
John 1 talks about when Jesus came to earth (anyone already looking forward to Christmas?!?🎄). John 1:5 says, “And the light shineth in darkness.” Jesus came right into a difficult time in history and was born into a culture that often rejected Him. It had been about 400 years since they had heard from God, and I’m sure many people had given up on their Savior EVER coming.
It was into that darkness that Jesus shined the light of HIs love and salvation. And it’s right into the darkness and difficulty you might be experiencing that Jesus wants to shine His light, hope, and truth. He’s amazing enough to help us even in our darkest places, even when we least expect it. So keep going, keep praying, keep living for Jesus.
And if you’re looking for where to start, Psalms 119:130 says, “The entrance of thy words giveth light.” God’s Word, the Bible, is always the right place to look for light, hope, and guidance whether you’re on a mountaintop right now or down in a valley. Whether life’s good or you desperately need a glimmer of light to break through, allow the Bible to have entrance into every part of your life today. God will always lead us the right way.
