What’s Hiding Under the Surface?

I saw this experiment on a FB reel and it stumped me! No explanation was given, but one comment did give a clue. Addison, Brooklyn, and I had a great time watching the rainbow disappear under the water…as long as we held the bag at just the right angle so that it reflected the white bowl and refraction made the rainbow disappear. Kinda nerdy I guess but a lot of fun (sounds like me😏🤔)!

In the experiment, it was just colors hiding under the surface, but it’s often tempting to hide more serious things under the surface of our lives, hoping no one will catch us. Proverbs 12:22 says, “Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.” Bottom line: we can’t lie and please God at the same time. It’s one or the other.

Sometimes people think that God is against THEM, but God makes it clear that He loves everyone and offers forgiveness and salvation, hope and peace to all. And He also makes it clear which CHOICES and actions He’s against (By the way, if God’s against it, there’s a good reason…and we should be against it too!).

Whether it’s an outright lie, being deceitful in our actions, trying to cover up the truth, or cheating on a test or a project at work, dishonesty is always wrong, and honesty really is the best policy…mainly because it pleases God.
