It’s one of those classics that needs to continue! The girls enjoyed picking out the toy they wanted to show and then telling why they love it. That’s a simple idea, but it’s the same simple idea all Christians can use to share the message of salvation through Jesus!
In the Old Testament, God had a plan to free the Israelites from Egyptian slavery just like He’s always had a plan to free us all from the slavery of sin. God demonstrated His power and gave Moses a good opportunity for show and tell. Exodus 4:2-5 says, “And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. 3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. 4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand.” Moses and Aaron go before the people of Israel to explain God’s amazing plan, and they get to turn it into a show and tell time. Exodus 4:30-31 says, “And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people. 31 And the people believed.” They saw and heard what God was doing and wanted to be a part of it!
In the same way, we can all do show and tell when we let others know about God’s plan to free them from their sins. Every Christian has an amazing testimony of how God saved them and changed their life. We get to show what God has done in our own lives and tell people that He’s the same God Who wants to save them and change their life too!
