Will It Last?

Green grass…in July! Every time the lawn starts to dry out this summer, we get rain! It seems like monsoon season came to Virginia for the last couple of week, but I do enjoy all the green! One thing is for sure though: Grass won’t always stay green. Some things are meant to be temporary.

1 Peter 1:23-25 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever.”

Look at what you’re living for, what you’re basing your life on, and ask, “Will it last?”

Then take a look at what’s stressing you out and ask the same question: “Will it last?” If the answer is no, then don’t get too worried about it. Temporary things aren’t worth the same effort as eternal things; they aren’t worth stressing about. Some things are meant to fade. Others are meant to last. Let’s live our lives based on what will last.
