We Don’t Have to Do It Alone!

I love being a part of vacation Bible school each year, and the week before is amazing. We see a bunch of people using their talents to put together everything from Bible lessons to custom decorations, media, games, crafts, schedules, bus and van routes, and meals. My friend Aaron built this Jeep piece by piece for the center of our tent, and he and I talked about how neither of us would be good at what the other did. I couldn’t build a Jeep like that to save my life, and he prefers hands-on work over a lot of the computer and tech prep I did. The great thing is that each of our strengths got to help in areas where others aren’t as strong.

The same idea is meant to help us with spiritual weaknesses as well. Galatians 6:1 says, “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.” Let’s look for those who need spiritual help, real help with real challenges, and be there for them by helping them get back to doing right. And let’s accept that help from others when we need it as well. We can depend on each other for projects like VBS, and we should be able to depend on each other for deep life issues as well.
