Our Cat Learned How to Use the Toilet!?!

We love Boots, but he does pick some unique nap spots! I’ve heard of people training their cats to actually use the toilet, but obviously that’s not the case with our cat! We can say that he’s learned how to use the toilet, but that’s really not true.

Obviously I’m just having fun with this silly illustration, but a lot of times it’s easy to say things we know aren’t actually real, to make ourselves sound good without living the things we are saying.

James 1:22 says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” We can say we’re Christians, but if we’ve never trusted Jesus as our personal Savior, it’s just not true. We can say we’re disciples of Jesus, following Him with our daily lives, but actions speak louder than words and either prove that we are genuinely following Jesus or that we’re just saying that. A lot of people know the Bible and try to “use Jesus” for their own purposes, but to be a disciple means to follow Jesus and become more and more like Him, to live His way not our own way. Disciples aren’t perfect but they do follow their Leader.

I can say my cat’s learned how to use the toilet, but his actions show that that isn’t the case. What do your actions show about you?
