Thank you to our friend Amy for providing the bus for this picture (and for not actually running me over with it!đ). Hopefully youâd never throw someone under a bus physically, but it can be tempting to symbolically throw someone under the bus by blaming them for something thatâs our responsibility.
When we sin, itâs easy to think, âThe devil made me do it,â but Satan canât make us do anything. In fact, a lot of the time, he isnât even involved at all. James 1:14 says, âBut every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.â We sin because we want to, because we choose to, and if we choose to say no to sin, God will help us experience victory.
Itâs also easy to blame God for the results of our bad choices. Itâs been said that âYou may choose your sin, but you cannot choose the consequences.â God loves to bless His followers but will never bless sin.
Instead of looking for someone to blame and âthrow under the bus,â letâs make right choices that bring no regrets.
