It Had to Be Done!!!

If you’ve never given a cat a bath…don’t, at least not if you don’t have to! If you see me or my wife with some fresh scratches on our arms, you’ll know why! Both our dog and our cat got fleas and needed a good bath. Unfortunately, Boots doesn’t seem to grasp the importance of what we did even though it had to be done!😬

I’m sure all of us understand the importance of a bath (at least I hope so!!!), but we often don’t grasp why it’s so important for us to work hard, even at things that really need to be done. If work often makes you as grumpy as my cat after a bath, keep in mind that we gotta work for what really matters…and then remember why you’re working! Ecclesiastes 2:17 describes the misery of working for what doesn’t matter: “Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” But Matthew 6:19-20 tell us what is worth working for: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal.” When we work for God, our work becomes worth it! When we work for God, we have an eternal impact, and our work is much more fun.

So if your opinion of work is about the same as our cat’s opinion of a bath, make sure you’re working for the right goals.
