What Do You See When You Look in the Mirror?

The girls had a blast choosing different filters and getting to see themselves as princesses or animals, but I hope they always know just how special they are just the way they are!  I hope they appreciate who God has made them to be even without the silly filters.

Maybe you’ve had some success lately and feel pretty good about yourself, or maybe failure or other discouragement has you struggling to see your true worth. Either way, God created you on purpose, according to His specific plan. He loves you, sees your real value, and has given you amazing purpose and meaning. Let’s always trust our loving Creator’s view of us and allow Him to turn us into the people He knows we can be for Him and with Him.

Judges 6:11-12 talks about Gideon who was hiding, scared of the enemy, but God gave him a glimpse of who he could be with God’s help: “And there came an angel of the LORD, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. 12 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour.” Gideon didn’t seem very mighty, but God knew Gideon’s value as a person and already knew that He could use Gideon to win an amazing battle (check out Judges 6-8 to read about everything that happened).

Whether you’re getting to be who you always wanted to be right now or not, you can always be who God made you to be (and that should always be our ultimate goal anyway!). Whether you have a proper self image or struggle in that area, God has an amazing view of who you are and what you can become through Him!
