Are You a Morning Person?

I gotta admit I feel a little bit of both these moods most mornings! Even when I think I’ve gotten a good night’s sleep, it doesn’t always feel like it…maybe you can relate!

I took Jen a cup of coffee in that mug the other morning and said she needed the caffeine because Jesus is risen but she was not 😏—thankfully she found it funny! The fact that Jesus Christ not only died for our sins but also rose again should fill us with hope, even for early mornings.

1 Corinthians 15:19-20 says, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.” His resurrection gives hope that nothing can take away!

Later in the same chapter, verses 55-57 tell us how salvation through faith in Jesus allows us to rest in that hope: “O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? 56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” If Jesus is our Savior, death is nothing more than going home to heaven, not something to constantly fear.

If death itself isn’t that bad when we’re with Jesus, imagine what a great day today can be with Jesus! And that’s the key to it all—WITH JESUS!
