Big surprise: we could lift more paper if we worked together! It was a lot of fun seeing the girls lift as much as they could (seriously, have you every carried much paper? It gets HEAVY!).
Just for the record, the three of us could have lifted more than that at the end! Well, we were strong enough, but clumsiness became a factor! Reams of paper slide really easily! Fun time with the girls and hopefully a helpful reminder to all of us: We don’t have to carry life’s burdens alone!
Galatians 6:2 challenges Christians to, “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” When a person becomes a Christian, they don’t stop having burdens and problems, but they should never have to carry those burdens alone. We should be there for each other, always looking for ways to lighten the load for those around us.
Another awesome reminder is this: Even if no one else helps us carry our load, our ultimate help comes from God, and He never fails! Psalms 121:2 says, “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” That’s a pretty awesome resume!
Corrie ten Boom said, “If you look at the world, you'll be distressed. If you look within, you'll be depressed. If you look at God, you'll be at rest.” Let’s look to God for our strength and look for ways we can lend a hand and help carry the load that others are bearing.
