Commercials try to grab our attention in a variety of ways. Advertisers work hard to get their products stuck in our heads using creative methods such as customer testimonies, discounts, and endorsements from famous people; and they’re willing to spend MILLIONS to do it. One of the most expensive commercials ever was for Chanel perfume at the low, low price of “only” $33 million! Seriously, how much perfume can they possibly be selling?!?
It makes sense that companies would do a lot to try to get our attention, and God has something WAY better to offer each of us. And He’s done everything necessary to get our attention…if we are willing to listen to Him.
God wants to help you see that His plan, His wisdom, is the best. Proverbs 1:20-22 says, “Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: 21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, 22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?” If we’ll give Him our attention, God will lead us away from mistakes and toward His amazing plan.
People wait hours on Black Friday just to get the latest discount, and God’s plan for your life is WAY BETTER than any sale.
Commercials try to sell us something so they can GET our money, but God lovingly offers what’s truly best FOR US!
Competitors try to convince you that their product is better than someone else’s. Sometimes they’re right; sometimes they’re wrong. But God’s plan is always the best. Don’t let Satan, sin, or selfishness convince you that there’s something better out there!
