In Genesis 40, a butler and a baker get thrown into prison with Joseph who had obviously earned a reputation as an interpreter of dreams. Verse 8 says, “And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.”
Here was Joseph, in Egypt because his brothers had sold him into slavery and in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, and he still faithfully did his part and allowed God to use him. He could have given up so many times, but he didn’t. Instead he stayed faithful, willing to be used for anything, realizing that results are up to God.
Never think your part is too small to make a difference. Joseph got to interpret the butler’s and baker’s dreams (and eventually the pharaoh’s dreams). He did his part, allowed God to use him, and saw God do some amazing things through him including eventually saving the known world from starvation.
Life will sometimes seem as frustrating as trying to cut grass one blade at a time or get rid of acres of snow with a shovel, but we don’t need to give up. We need to keep doing our part and let God do His! He’s really good at it!
More about being prepared for whatever life throws your way, even snow!
