Are You Ready to Grow?

Do you think our garden is ready for planting season? Me neither! It’s not time to yet, but I think you’d agree: the ground isn’t ready. Gardners debate which fertilizer or weed spray to use and when to plant, but other things are obvious: If our garden is going to grow, we need to move the chicken coop, till in the leaves, and get the rabbit hutch out of the way. We have some obvious prep work if our garden is going to grow. A lot of the time, we KNOW what needs to change for us to grow spiritually too.
Jeremiah 4:3 says, “For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.” Do you know of any “fallow ground” in your life that’s stopping you from growing, any part that you refuse to allow God to break up? Are there any “thorns” holding you back? Let’s be willing to make those preparations in our lives so that we can keep growing spiritually.

Prepared soil will bring growth. Are you ready to grow?
