Fun night of VBS that even ended with me being crowned king! We all had a great time playing games, eating snacks, and learning more about God tonight (and all the kids got balloon crowns too!). It’s good to be king 🤣 but it’s convicting to consider who’s in charge in our lives. In the end, that’s a question we answer for our lives every single day.
Romans 7:19 says, “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.”
The Apostle Paul got it that, even as Christians, we still have a sin nature that needs to be combatted.
Verses 24-25 say, “O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.”
When we live with Jesus in charge, we succeed. When we let our wrong, sinful desires be in charge, we fail.
And thankfully, when we’re all mixed up like Paul describes, we have a Savior we can go to for direction.
