That’s one way to control your tongue!

Think you can tell what flavor a Skittle is with your eyes closed…and your nose pinched shut? Closing our nose definitely changes how things taste. Brooklyn got it right, but Addison did not!

We’ll just sound silly if we walk around pinching our nose, but the Bible does give us great advice on how to control our tongue.

Proverbs 16:1 says, “The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.”

Jesus gives us a perfect example of controlling our words in Luke‬ ‭20‬:‭1‬-‭4‬: “And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders, and spake unto him, saying, Tell us, by what authority doest thou these things? or who is he that gave thee this authority? And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me: The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men?”

Jesus knew their heart and aimed His answer right there. If only they would have listened!

Let’s answer only as we’re led by God. And let’s answer for the other person’s benefit not our own benefit.
