Oddly enough, that reminds me of church

As a pastor, I make a lot of hospital visits.

As a dad, I’ve had a few ER trips as well!

Thankfully all good right now. I took that picture because it reminds me of the quote, “The church is not a museum for good people. It’s a hospital for the broken.”

It’s a place for real people to be real with God and each other and get real help.

And the church really is people, not a building, so that’s something we can do 24/7 and then enjoy special times all together during church services.

1 Corinthians 12:26-27 says, “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”

One more quote I like says, “Church is a hospital for sinners, not a country club for saints.”

It’s hard to be the church if we never gather together, but gathering together doesn’t guarantee we’ll live it out the rest of the week either.

So let’s get busy being the church today. Then we can refuel and celebrate what God did when we gather as a church.
