Cause and effect

You’ve probably seen a Newton’s cradle before (even if you’re like me and didn’t remember that’s what it’s called!). The energy from one ball can transfer to another one…all the way on the other side. It works with any amount you pull back too.

It just simply works. That’s a great reminder when it comes to sharing our faith.

Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭1‬ says, “And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judæa by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.”

Jesus taught truth everywhere He went, every chance He got. And there was something about Jesus that made people want to listen.

I think verse 45‬ ‭show us part of what that was: “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

We can’t do miracles to help people, but we can show them that our faith is real and our love for them is real. We can have a Christ-like spirit that draws people in and makes them want to listen to the truth.

Results aren’t guaranteed, but God’s Word won’t return void either.

It might not always work out the way we hope, but if we follow Jesus’ example we can spread truth everywhere we go. And we can look forward to the effects that cause will bring.
