Saw this sign in the horse center arena where I was able to preach during tonight’s special service remembering everything God has done in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
The sign had nothing specifically to do with tonight’s event, but it does offer a helpful reminder.
The Bible (and common sense) show that we have to made judgements about what things and even what people we’ll allow into our lives, but we can focus on making ourselves and others better as we ultimately seek to please God, not ourselves or others.
Matthew 3:16-17 “And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
We can live a life that pleases our Heavenly Father as well, but to do that we have to care more about what He thinks about us than what anyone else thinks.
And we need to care more about pleasing Him than having circumstances or a lifestyle that pleases us.
