Do you care enough?

Busy day for Addison and Brooklyn! After school they had piano lessons, church, and then a ballet practice for their upcoming program. They had fun (and should sleep well!), but Jen and I appreciated the opportunity to show them  we care enough about them to help make all of that work. I’m glad most nights aren’t that busy, and we’ll sleep well too!

Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭says, “And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

Jesus got criticized for spending time with sinful people (sadly the sinners who were criticizing Him seemed to overlook their own sin!).

Jesus influenced them. They often changed but He never did.

Jesus cared enough to go where the need was.

Do we care enough?

Jesus cared enough to be unpopular.

He cares enough to take time.

He cared enough to risk His reputation (never doing wrong but knowing He’d be criticized for doing right).

He cared enough to live out the truth and to share the truth at every opportunity.

He cared enough to help sinners so that He could ultimately save all who would accept Him.

How much do we care about the people all around us?
