We love our home and our church! With gas prices so high, I also love how short my commute is!🤣
It’s a beautiful home, a nice yard, and a beautiful church building, but none of that is what matters most.
I got to dig into Luke 12 a little bit this morning. Luke 12:4-5 “And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.”
Luke 12:19-21 “And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
I think both of those sets of verses point to an important truth: The eternal can protect us from the temporary or the temporary can pull our focus away from the eternal.
Let’s stay focused most on what matters most today.
