I’ve heard that many secrets get told as soon as kids start sharing “prayer requests” in Sunday school!🤣 I definitely appreciate Mrs. Shirley and all she does in this room for our kids and the other kids in our church. Hopefully our girls haven’t shared anything too crazy during prayer request times!
Sometimes secrets are hard to keep hidden. That can be good or bad.
Mordecai was a Jew who saved the king’s life. Esther 6:3 says, “And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king's servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.”
It took some time, but Mordecai’s secret faithfulness came to the king’s attention and brought reward.
But not all secrets were good in the book of Esther.
Esther 7:9 says, “And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.”
Haman secretly plotted to kill Mordeccai over selfish, petty stuff. In fact Haman was plotting to kill all the Jews until it all caught up with him.
Both of those guys’ secrets went unnoticed for a while. But God saw it all and made sure they got what they deserved, whether that was good or bad.
What is there in your life that only God sees?
Numbers 32:23 says, “be sure your sin will find you out.”
But Matthew 6:6 says, “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”
if we have nothing to hide, it’s a good thing when the truth comes out.
