I enjoyed seeing these spots of shade down below while flying recently. It was fun to see the clouds that were causing those dark spots and to remember times I’ve been in shadows like that. They don’t always last long; brighter times often come back quickly.
Obadiah 1:15 says, “For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.”
Verse 17 says, “But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.”
Edom and Israel both faced God’s judgment, but one had hope that it was only temporary. Israel faced a dark time, 70 difficult years in fact, but they’d come out of it.
Christian comedian Mark Lowry says his favorite Bible verse is “it came to pass” (as in not to stay!)
Without God, the dark times last, but with God they are only temporary.
