We had a great trip to Sight & Sound Theatre’s presentation of Daniel today! I love this sculpture of a lion and a lamb resting peacefully together—a picture of peace that God says will one day be a reality.
Even now peace is possible for each of us if we are willing to do the things it takes to be able to enjoy peace.
Isaiah 48:21-22 says, “And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts: he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them: he clave the rock also, and the waters gushed out. 22 There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.”
I recently heard a pastor say that “Peace is not a prior emotion. It is the result of action.”
It’s not about convincing ourselves to FEEL peace. It’s about enjoying the peace that only comes when we obey God.
God gives blessing as we go His way. It’s not always everything we want, but He does provide everything we need and a peace that goes beyond what we can even wrap our minds around.
