I think this is how a lot of people picture God: angry scowl, eyes searching for anything fun, ready to pounce and say NO!
Of course the Bible has boundaries and principles for us to follow and things for us to avoid and not do, but that’s all for our good, not to ruin our fun or mess up our lives.
Proverbs 4:11-13 says, “I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths. When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened; And when thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble. Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: Keep her; for she is thy life.”
God’s boundaries are for our good.
Godly wisdom can literally save our life both eternally through salvation and right now by avoiding dangers. Godly wisdom can also by add life to our years by giving us something valuable and meaningful to live for.
God isn’t out to say NO to good things. He wants to lead us to the best things.
