I had a little free time the other day so I checked out a teleprompter app to use for my daily devotional videos. I like it! It’s a lot easier to have the verses and thoughts on screen (and the words don’t show in the video of course).
We probably all feel like it would be easier to have the right words given to us in certain situations, but thankfully we don’t need that kind of help when we want to praise God.
Psalm 111:1 says, “Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, In the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.”
That first sentence is actually the meaning of the word hallelujah. Hopefully we all have times we want to praise God and thank Him for how awesome He is and how good He’s been to us, but maybe it’s tough to know how.
Remember that praising with our whole heart is way better than right words. Just start thanking God for what He’s done for you (and thanking Him for salvation is the perfect place to start).
The psalm writer talks about praising God in the assembly and the congregation. Maybe praising God or even talking about Him in public is scary. Maybe you have that desire but don’t know what words to use.
Thankfully public praise and witness comes from private times with God. If we have a proper private relationship with God, we will be overflowing with praise inside, and God will give us the words to say when we have opportunity to share with others.
