Only works if there’s tension

Fun time flying kites this afternoon (thank you Mrs. Kristy for the kites!). The girls are getting good at it; we just have to remind them to run to get the kites started and to keep the string tight. They just won’t fly without tension in the string.

Psalms 30:6 says, “And in my prosperity I said,

I shall never be moved.”

It wasn’t easy times or lack that hindered David. It was prosperity. It was when he had it all and the pressure was off that he became self sufficient and stopped relying on God. That was when he struggled most.

Sometimes we just want easy times but God allows the tension to stay there to stretch us and grow us.
