How do you feel about Good Friday?

It’s a tough message that Jesus died for us, but it’s also the most hope-filled thing that’s ever happened! We should eagerly turn toward Jesus each day.

Recently I was reading in Judges 13 where Samson’s parents got an amazing visit predicting the birth of their son. Their response in verse 22 got my attention: “And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.”

Judges 13:3 had said, “And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.”

He came with good news! His message was something to eagerly accept not something to fear.

It’s true that we can’t look at God the Father currently and live, but this was an Old Testament appearance of Jesus who came with good news not a death threat.

Jesus isn’t someone to fear. He loves us and came to save us.

John 3:17 says, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

There is a reason to fear if you’re trusting yourself and rejecting Jesus. But that’s a reason to run TO Jesus not away from Him.

Have you come to Him for salvation?

If so, will you run to Him today for help with every area of your life? After all, it’s often when we don’t think we need help that we need it the most.
