Empty to be filled

Do you ever bite into an Easter bunny or other chocolate that you thought was solid and then realize it’s just empty inside? It’s all good and can be easier to eat when it’s not a whole pound of solid chocolate, but expecting something and getting nothing is disappointing…usually. That’s why I like these Reeses eggs better. I love peanut butter, so when I see a hollow chocolate bunny, I want to fill it full of peanut butter before I eat it!

In life, being filled with the right things sometimes requires us to be emptied out first of all.

2 Timothy 2:20-21 says, “But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.”

As we celebrate Easter, the empty tomb reminds us that Jesus offers to take away the worst and give us the best.

Will you let Jesus take away your sins? Will you let Him take away your failures and your past mistakes? Will you let him fill you with salvation, hope and purpose?

No matter where you are right now, come to Jesus and let Him fill your life.

And if you’ve been a Christian for years, empty yourself of your plan for today and let Jesus fill your life with His plans. I promise Jesus’ plans are the best things we can possibly fill our lives with.
