We’ve enjoyed the new Zillionaires game my brother and his family gave our girls for Christmas. It’s a fun bidding game where millions of dollars just aren’t enough. We all had ZILLIONS of dollars and kinda felt rich.
Thankfully we don’t have to have a lot of real money to come to our God.
Leviticus 5:7 says, “And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass, which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the LORD; one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.”
God knows that sins have to be paid for. The Old Testament sacrificial system was a faith-based system that looked forward to the one and only sacrifice that could truly pay for our sins: Jesus Christ.
And even here in Leviticus, God considered those who were too poor to pay the required sacrifice. In a very real sense, that’s all of us! We are all too poor spiritually to redeem ourselves or pay for our sins. But thankfully Jesus paid it all!
