Putting your money where your mouth is

Gross! Some expressions are just kinda weird!

Sometimes in the Christian life as we talk about following Jesus, we’ve gotta step up and “put our money where our mouth is” by willingly acting on that faith.

Ananias faced such a test as God told him to go help Saul, a man known for persecuting Jesus-followers.

Acts 9:15 says, “But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:”

Verse 17 says, “And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.”

Ananias faced a scary situation. Thankfully he went because God had an amazing work for them to all be a part of.

Now it’s my turn to “put my money where my mouth is” and step out on faith.

We announced in church today that I have accepted the lead pastor position at Calvary Baptist Church in Chambersburg, PA. It’s time for us to step up and step out in faith.

It’s a wonderful church, and we are excited to be a part of what God is doing, but we’re also sad to leave good friends behind and a little scared to step into the unknown.

But one thing’s for sure: God’s plan is the absolute best thing any of us can possibly be a part of.
