Empty to be filled

Today I got to give Brooklyn and Addison a FaceTime tour of our new house we’ll be moving to in Pennsylvania. Jen and I got a tour back in January, but the girls haven’t seen it in person yet. All of those empty rooms are kind of exciting because it makes me think of filling them with our stuff and our memories and our lives. The emptiness can seem overwhelming, but it can also be the opportunity we need to add the right stuff.

Colossians 1:9-10 says, “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;”

If we’re filled up with our own lives, our own stuff, our own goals, or our own ego, there won’t be room for the best stuff, God’s stuff in our lives. Are there any areas of your life you need to empty out today?
