Ever try to pour the EXACT same amount of a drink for two kids?

Thankfully I got to drink both orange juices  (it has a lot of pulp, and I’m the only one in my family who can drink OJ with pulp in it). But many times our girls get very concerned about things being evened out just right. I think we all feel that way sometimes.

Job‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ ‭says, “There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.”

‭‭

If you know anything about the book of Job, you know Job was about to go through unimaginable heartache, so it might be surprising to see that this is how the story starts. It wasn’t some wicked person who all that tragedy happened to. God would bless Job and “even things out” so to speak, but that wasn’t until the end of the book.

One of the objections I hear most from skeptics is that God can’t be real because of the bad that happens to good people right here right now. But removing only the temporary bad would do nothing for those people’s eternity. God offers help and hope that’s far better, far more worthwhile and eternal. And God takes the bad and brings even bigger good from it.

We shouldn’t blame God or give up based on our current situation. God can work in a moment, but when He chooses to take years, He’s got something even better in the works. No matter what, God is good and God will set everything right at just the right time.
