Our attitude won’t always determine our outcome, but our attitude will always determine our outlook

Have you ever played croquet? If you have, you probably agree that it can be a lot of fun whacking the ball through the little hoops and all around the yard. But it can also be frustrating when your shot misses badly!

My parents have had this game since I was a kid, so it brought back a lot of fun memories playing the same game in the same backyard with them. It was also the girls’ first time ever playing croquet, so putting mallets into their hands and hoping they didn’t get too frustrated was a bit of a risk I suppose! We all had a great time, and good attitudes helped everything. With the right attitude, the right outlook on life, we can enjoy each day instead of being brought down by each struggle.

Psalms 121:1-2 says, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD,

which made heaven and earth.”

When we’re in a valley, we can look up to God for help, and when we’re on a mountaintop life experience, we should still look up to God in praise.

Or as the Christian movie Facing the Giants puts it, “When we win, we praise Him. And when we lose, we praise Him.”
