Is your tree up yet? Shopping done? Have you even started Christmas shopping? Anyone already feeling the stress of the season?
The Christmas season also brings some great opportunities for spiritual growth. What next step do you need to take this Christmas season?
Psalms 55:16-17 tells us some great times of day to go to God: “As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. 17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
Pastors and devotional writers love to talk about next steps like, “Have you trusted Jesus as your Savior? Do you need to read your Bible more? Pray more? Go to church more often?” And those are great steps.
But maybe you’ve got those all covered. If so, what about the step of focusing on Jesus (the real reason for the season) instead of going into debt AGAIN buying presents and decorations? What about staying emotionally balanced despite the stress of December (and maybe the stress of family get-togethers)?
What needs to be different this December? It’s never too early to go to God and talk to Him about it.
