Get a higher perspective

My mother in law gave me this awesome drone as an early Christmas present, and it’s been fun to learn how to fly it (and how to play keep away with my pup!). Seeing things from a different angle like that really is a fun opportunity, and getting a higher perspective on life’s issues can be absolutely vital.

One of those times is when we are criticized. Some people are out to be rude and hurt us. Others genuinely want to help us grow. Either way, it can be hard to be criticized. James 1:19-20 says, “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: 20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.” If we keep our anger out of the way, God does have a righteous work, an amazing work to do in and through our lives even through the criticism we receive. It’s easy to get defensive and think “who are they to criticize me!?” But what if they are the exact person God wanted to bring a challenge to us through?

And I get it they might not have criticized you in a perfect way, maybe not even in a kind way, but we still have the opportunity to grow every time we are criticized.
